Hi,

I am using VB6.0 Learning Edition, and I am trying to use the MSCOMM control with it at design time.

Although the control registers without any problems, I get a "License information for this component not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality in the design environment." message when dropping the control onto a form.

I read everywhere that this control can be licensed simply by merging the vbctrls.reg file into the registry. Or that it can be licensed by running vb6cli.exe.

The problem is that the vbctrls.reg file is not included in the VB6.0 Learning Edition installation CD, and the vb6cli.exe file is of no use for licensing the MSCOMM32.ocx control with VB6.0 Learning Edition.

Does anybody know if the MSCOMM32.ocx control can be used at design time with VB6.0 Learning Edition at all? Or if it can somehow be made to work with it?

Any help on this matter would be great!

Cheers.
