Hello there, me being a "very enthusiastic" vb programmer...lol...has been very scared of making my own object and avoided it with great care! Well the time has come to create my own object and i dont know how! I need a vertical progress bar with 6 sections...rather like the nokia phone battery or signal bar. I am actually doing a GSM project that needs a signal strength and i want to make it like the nokia signal bar.

Pleeeeeeeeeese can anyone give me a tip or a walkthrough (incase i get lost) or just something to help would be very much appreciated!

Thanx

[EDIT] Sory this post just made me a "Forum Guru"!!! hehe

*cough*should have been posted in ActiveX forum...lol

Go to www.a1tutorials.cjb.net and have a look at Booooze's activex control tutorial. It's a very good place to start.

Good Luck

theres really not much difference between writing a control and an exe. a control has a few different events/properties, and at runtime it uses a web browser, but thats about all. the codes still vb .

You could raw out the bars example, use labels, like the signal strenght u mentions, then when u move ur move over the bars , u can select the level going from low to hight. Just a suggestion. if u dont understand what i mean, then u can ask me.
