I have downloaded it and converted several of my programs to vb 2005. You will not lose anything in the programing language. What you won't get is the pro and enterprise stuff that I don't use anyway. Most of the changes seem to be in the net 2.0 framework and the IDE. The compiler actually comes with the net framework so you can use notepad to write your vb programs. This means there is no point in MS shorting you in the programing language. New in the 2005 vb is the MY key word. It is a short cut to many things you used to have to know how to get to. Such as: To get the user name: My.User.Name.ToString() To see if the mouse has a wheel: My.Computer.Mouse.WheelExists.ToString() To get the directory path: My.Application.Info.DirectoryPath.ToString()
Wayne I know enough to be dangerious. It is hard to understand how a cemetery can raise its burial rates and blame it on the cost of living.
