This is a simple, (1) form VB 6.0 program which demonstrates how to plot multiple sets of data on the same graph using the MSChart Control 6.0 (OLEDB). The .chartdata property of the control is assigned a multidimensional array where the first column contains text. The chart control interprets this as indicating that the first column corresponds to X-data and subsequent columns correspond to various values of Y for the same set of X's. To plot numeric data along the X-axis, I simply concantenate the numeric data with a blank string, i.e., column1 = intvalue & " ". In this fashion, it is possible to plot many different sets of Y vs X data on the same graph, as long as you can interpolate your data down to the same set of X-values. Notice the declaration of the arrays as holding variant datatypes. This is necessary in order to make the arrays handle both text and numeric data simultaneously. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this code.
