This my new ActiveX control. It creats custom form regions. What you do is set the form's image to a picture of youre choice with a border around it (any colour). it will make the border transparent!!!.

Code

CustomScreen1.run (form name) ' will handle me

and in unload

CustomScreen1.Und(Form name) ' also will handle me.

Let me know what you think

James

nice control. i actually developed mine from taking apart a control that did the same lol. did you take anything from my nk5 zip? (not complaining lol, thats what its there for). if you did though, then its kinda funny to think you created a control from some code that was created by taking apart a control hehe... amost as if you've put it back together again.

i compiled as an ocx, added to a form, and on the forms load i had the "customwindow1.run me" syntax. i never worked out how to set the image, but the form was completely transparent so i'm guessing it would work .

You set the picture you want as the forms picture. the boarder color will be picked up as the color to 'delete'. So say you have a red sguare with a white boarder the app will pick up the color on twip 0,0 and use that color to create the custom region.

I tried it with VB6 and when I ran it a Internet Explorer window opened. Is that right for it to do? And when I opened the Project1.vbp file it said "Unable to set the version compatible componet: C:\....\Project1.ocx". I might be doing something wrong; I am teaching VB6 to myself so I'm not to sure about these activeX things.

Ok...

Iv downloaded it, but how do i put the CustomScreen.ctl on my own form?

Am i right in thinking that it finds the top-left pixel, and scans the form making all of that colour transparent?

If so, would it work on my new programs? (e.g. QText-i think u downloaded it from here-its an exclusive beta only for A1 forums!!!!!1)

Thanks

DOS

Edit:Got rid of an s on thanks, and fixed sig.
