Just tried it on another Windows 7 64 bit Home (official release) machine and see the attached file.

The API is still only controlling the "Form1" slider which appears only when my program vb program is running.

And not the "Apparaat"/"luidsprekers" silder

Apparaat = device

Luidspreker = loudspeaker

Just another question, are you guys only programming in vb6 or also vb.net?

Just wondering if I should make the step to vb.net or stay with vb6.

If you adjust the slider in Form1 to max does that change the Windows speaker Form1 to max?

I installed Visual Basic 2008 Express 12 months ago on my desktop and Visual Basic 2010 Express on my laptop. I don't find them easy to use the only common things between VB6 and VB.Net are the VB keywords.

To me the idea of developing something is to iron out bugs in the old version and add better features. To me they haven't done much. I really which M$ would have named it VB7 as there is loads of confusion when they are saying I use VB, yes which VB.

Its a popular misconception that M$ put out and users believe. If it newer it must be better, no it isn't. You only have to look at the operating systems as a perfect example.

I'm staying with VB6. Wink

I've been programming with VB for 17 years. Started with VB4 16bit Pro, VB5 Pro, VB6 Pro/Enterprise and now VB3 Pro. But I'm no expert, I'm still learning.

This doesn't sound like a VB issue at all. This must have something to do with all the "permissions" hoops that must be jumped through starting with Vista! Perhaps you need to log in as "Administrator" and change something or "Run this program in compatibility mode for ..."?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for you reply.

When you change the slider on the form1 is will change the mixerslider "form1", not the master.
I'm logged in as admin and already tried to use the compatibility mode (XP), but no luck

I would like to stay at XP, but my company changed to Windows 7, so I have to make the step.

So there is no need to "upgrade" to VB.NETw00t

I see you've found vbforums and posted a thread on there.

Its up to you if you want to use VB.Net it depends how long you've been using VB6. After 15 years I'm not changing. Wink

If you don't get an answer of there then I don't thing you'll get one anywhere. You just have to be a bit patient in waiting.

Replies on VBF fall off on the week end. Post the link to your post here and we will wait until Monday to bump it with a reply. If you do it your self the mods will spank you. Hopefully someone who knows how to dance with W7 will reply.
