Simple VB.Net Shootem up game. This program is based based on a program written and Copyright © 1999 by John Ayres ' called Shootem. It was originally written in Delphi 4. The program has the same look and feel as the original written in Delphi 4 however, this program uses managed DirectX, collections for object management, sound, and other things that distinguish it from the original Delphi 4 version. The intent of this program was to create a comparison between a program written in VB.Net using Managed DirectX and a program written in a non-dotnet language. This program uses images from the freeware sprite library SpriteLib by Ari Feldman. Sprite lib sprites Copyright © 1998 by Ari Feldman. This code is freeware and can be used for any personal or commercial purposes without royalty or license. Just mention my name if you use it. Use at your own risk. ********************************************** ABOUT: This is a simple shootem up game where alien ships travel from the top of the screen toward the player at the bottom of the screen and randomly fire at the player. Each level provides more ships to shoot and slightly faster game speed. CONTROLS: Move Left : left arrow Move Right : right arrow Shoot : spacebar This program uses managed DirectX 9. The program should be compiled as a release for it to run at a reasonable speed.
