A ready-made web site framework which automatically generates left sidebar menus according to the content (.htm's, .doc's, etc) its users add. This is Version 3.52, which runs on both VS2005/ASP.NET.2 and VS2008/ASP.NET.3.5. Supplied with web.config for 3.5 with an alternative for 2.0 which you can swap in. Features include: * Improved compatibility with public hosting services - where "trust" is set to "medium". * More flexible design customisation * Public-Internet as well as Intranet security control * User-Contributed-Notes The current example instance is for a School Intranet. You can also add your own programming of any website capability, eg retail sales, shopping cart, bulletin board. Point to the start pages for your own added programming by editing the "add .. service" elements in file "web.config" and they will appear in the top menu bar. See existing examples eg "School Notices" A "Site Search" function is built-in. This harnesses the Microsoft Indexing Service and this code shows how to do that! This complete app showcases much recent development from our Institute. Of special interest is Class DataAccessBase which wraps up most of what we need of ADO.NET into Functions FillTable and PutData, and includes a robust alternative to the framework "CommandBuilder". Our alternative insists on tables having primary keys which we believe is a reasonable requirement. Once that is done we get a reliable data-writing result across a range of different database engines.
