| Controlling it in what way, volume, midi output, microphone or something else?
Keith
I've been programming with VB for 15 years. Started with VB4 16bit Pro, VB5 Pro, VB6 Pro/Enterprise and now VB3 Pro. But I'm no expert, I'm still learning. |

| | Hi Keith, it's for controlling the wave / mic / total volume sliders and the mute function for each control. For now, I still use VB6, but I'm thinking of upgrading to .NET (not sure yet) So if you could also provide me with information for .NET also, it would be great. Kiter |

| Well I used SpyXX to see what it would return for the Windows Sound Control Panels. Judging by my returns I would think that one method might be to use the SendMessage API.

| | Go over to thescarms.com and have a look at their vb6 sample programs. One of them is for controlling the master volume... Good Luck |

| | Sorry for my late response, but had soms other urgent projects to make. I tried you link, but it's not controlling the Master (system) volume. I've been looking on the web, but so far all the examples I tested, they only control the vb6 app volume. In the attachement you will see which slider I want to control within Windows 7 Hope someone can help me with this.

| The jpg image of your windows sound control panel must be unique to W7 because I've never seen a control for my VB Project in W98 or XP. The link I posted should be controlling the Master volume but I know little of W7.

| Thats the same Volume Mixer on my Vista, I don't know how he's showing Project1 Visual Basic unless the shows when he's running his app?

I can't imagine how a new (VB Project) slider could or would be created by VB or Windows. The API is just supposed to access the existing Windows Audio controls.
