I am buying a new pc mainly for gaming and just wondering if I really need a widescren lcd monitor?
Does a widescreen monitor make any difference for games or should i save myself around €500 by keeping my current 19inch lcd which seems to be in fine condition? I plan to have a 768MB nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card if that makes any difference to the subject.

I've been programming with VB for 12 years. Started with VB4 16bit Pro, VB5 Pro, VB6 Pro/Enterprise and now VB3 Pro. But I'm no expert, I'm still learning.

It doesn't matter if you have wide screen or just a simple monitor, whats important is that your comfortable on what you are using and making sure if your PC is capable having that game installed in it.
